Videogame: Tubos y Escaleras

My last game in Processing3

I made this game in my spare time when I worked at the stationery store.

It is a game for 2 to 6 players. The direct translation of "Tubos y Escaleras" into English would be: "Pipes and Ladders"

It is mainly based on the board game: Snakes and Ladders. In fact, all the main mechanics and the objective are the same.

Serpientes y Escaleras

I was also inspired by games like Mario Party, where you can sometimes use other types of dice as you see fit.

It has 1 gray die, which is the common one and is always available. It also has 5 other dice which are only available until after a certain number of turns, and once a die is available or charged you can use it whenever you want. When you use one of these dice, it is unloaded again and certain turns must pass before it can be used again.

Each dice has different values, both large and small, even ones that can come out as 0 or a negative number.

Why would you want a small number, a 0 or a negative number?

The board changes every certain number of turns, making all the ladders and all the tubes change position, creating new routes to advance or go back, making no game be the same.

The game still needs a lot to improve, especially in terms of graphics. Many times it is not even known where the player's chips are. Also, neither the stairs nor the tubes have a design as such. The stairs look more like slats haha 😅.

Tubos y Escaleras

There are times when there are several elements connected to each other, and that makes it more fun. For example: Being in a ladder that has a pipe at its tip that leads to another pipe that finally leads to a ladder 😀. It took me a bit, but I managed to make it so that infinite loops of stairs and pipes never exist (and a player is traveling infinitely), they all end somewhere.

There is always a ladder pointing directly to the goal, so there are at least 2 ways to win.

The gray dice works like 2 6-sided dice in real life, that is, you are more likely to get a 7 than a 12 for example.
