Last Videogame: BLUE

BLUE

My last video game made in Game Maker around those dates.

It was a logic game where the goal was to get to the exit by avoiding or destroying enemies and moving objects like boxes or rolling stones.

By this time I already considered that I knew a lot about Game Maker and also a little programming in GML (Game Maker Language).

It was the first game to have save files. You could save and load up to 3 games.

I wanted to do the best I could. I also wanted it to be very minimalist. The sounds of moving or the sounds of water were pleasant and an environmental garden sound played in the background.

As the player moved, the ball would move a set distance in one direction, causing the game to take place inside an invisible grid.

It had two unlockable minigames to play with friends. For 2 and 4 Players. One of the minigames was like my "Mini Soccer" game but with the visual style of this game. Another of the minigames was to dodge some flames that were appearing and moving in various directions.

This game was the only one I made a cover for. I did it with the little knowledge I had of Photoshop.

It had 12 levels. My goal was to do more, but I decided to focus more on my studies and other more important things in my life at the time.

Other projects

Next, I show some of the few projects I did after BLUE (All incomplete).

I even tried to make 3D games.

What happened after that?

At this time I had just finished middle school, I was 15 years old, but I couldn't get into high school because my previous school took time to give me my papers. So I decided to start studying English at Quick Learning, and not waste 1 year.

Little by little, I became less interested in Game Maker, but not because the program was bad, but because other things in my life interested me, I focused more on learning English, I wanted to improve what I had not learned well in middle school, etc.

A year later, I already knew English. I entered high school. Like middle school, high school was a technical school, so I had to choose a major with which I could graduate. I chose Computer Equipment Maintenance simply because it had to do with computers and because if I studied robotics in the future, they would possibly teach me some electronics here, and yes, they did.

The same thing happened to me as in middle school (choosing "electrical workshop" instead of "electronics workshop"): Apart from "Computer Maintenance\ there was another option called "Informatica" (Computer science). I didn't know what it was, so I didn't choose it. Some time later I learned that they see everything about programming there. I feel like it would have served me better than computer repair... but oh well. Anyway, since the fourth semester of high school I also started to see a bit of programming in the C language. I explain that in my next article.
